- Hit by a car
- Bleeding of any kind
- Seizures
- Vomiting, especially if can’t keep food/water down
- Sudden swelling of whole muzzle/face
- Breathing distress
- Sudden severe coughing or choking
- Neurologic symptoms – balance problems
- Possible poisoning, especially rat poison, slug bait, and antifreeze
- Enlarged, painful abdomen
If your pet shows these, it MAY BE URGENT
- Turning circles with head tilt
- Swollen ear flap
- Swelling in one location
- Squinting eyes
- Sudden severe sneezing
- Painful or more frequent urination or defecation
- Discharge from eyes/nose that is mucoid
- Non-weight-bearing lameness
