  • Hit by a car
  • Bleeding of any kind
  • Seizures
  • Vomiting, especially if can’t keep food/water down
  • Sudden swelling of whole muzzle/face
  • Breathing distress
  • Sudden severe coughing or choking
  • Neurologic symptoms – balance problems
  • Possible poisoning, especially rat poison, slug bait, and antifreeze
  • Enlarged, painful abdomen


If your pet shows these, it MAY BE URGENT
  • Turning circles with head tilt
  • Swollen ear flap
  • Swelling in one location
  • Squinting eyes
  • Sudden severe sneezing
  • Painful or more frequent urination or defecation
  • Discharge from eyes/nose that is mucoid
  • Non-weight-bearing lameness


If your pet shows these symptoms, it is probably not urgent, but should receive attention. E-mail or call us
