Turn in your unused or expired pet and human medication for safe disposal this weekend at the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Prescription Take Back Day. This is a free event.

Study: 53% of cats and 55% of dogs are overweight or obese

The Association for Pet Obesity reports that an estimated 50 million cats and 43 million dogs are overweight or obese.  These numbers are on the rise since the study began in 2007.

Traveling to the Northern Oregon Coast? Distemper Alert

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is investigating a probable outbreak of canine distemper affecting raccoons from Seaside to Astoria.

Prior to widespread vaccination, distemper was the scourge of the canine community, wiping out entire towns of pet dogs. Distemper is a highly contagious virus however you can protect your pet by staying current on his or her vaccines.
